Jose Aldo, Anthony Pettis has his eye on you.
Minutes after successful the UFC light-weight championship with a first-spherical armbar of Benson Henderson, Pettis had his next battle picked out. He needs featherweight champion Aldo.
“Joe Silva mentioned to make his job simpler. Jose Aldo, we’ve some unfinished enterprise. My belt or your belt?” Pettis said to the digicam at UFC 164 in Milwaukee.
The struggle isn’t out of the realm of possibility. Aldo was originally scheduled to battle Pettis at UFC 163, earlier this month. The UFC has floated the thought of matching up champions previously.
But Pettis isn’t the one one who has earned a shot at Aldo. Chad Mendes won with a knockout on Saturday night time. He lost to Aldo in January of 2012, but has earned four straight knockout wins since.
