A notion exists that only unhealthy stuff occurs to the New York Mets. Properly, it is not true, as outfielder Juan Lagares is right here to show you. He made a formidable catch operating into the fence at Target Area on Monday afternoon, giving Josh Willingham and the Minnesota Twins a bitter style of Mets baseball.
Note the trace of an ice cream cone in Lagares’ glove after hitting the fence. Mets broadcaster Gary Cohen famous:
“He keeps outdoing himself.”

Lagares also had an incredible series at Petco Park throughout the Mets’ latest visit there, making a pleasant (ahead) dive on a dying liner by San Diego’s Jedd Gyorko, along with a spot-on throw dwelling, cutting down Tyson Ross trying to attain. One-hop perfection.
And it’s not just a small pattern size of defensive gems, either, as Mark Simon of ESPN notes:

At the plate, Lagares has a woeful strikeout-to-stroll ratio, and he is batting254/.284/.395 for an OPS+ of 90. But by no means mind that, not while he is taking away runs on protection.
