Juventus beat Lazio four-zero to win the Italian Supercoppa in entrance of a hostile all too predictably racist crowd at the Stadio Olimpico. Carlos Tevez scored his first aim for Juventus since his transfer from Manchester City and he did it in a way that in all probability made Lazio keeper Federico Marchetti remorse waking up within the morning.
With Juve already up three-0 with two of these targets coming in the earlier four minutes, the Serie A champions went on the assault again with a backheel cross establishing a shot that was saved by Marchetti nicely off his line. The ball then fell to Paul Pogba, who floated a header towards the empty net, but Marchetti scrambled back to make the stop. With Marchetti laying there, the ball trickled again to Pogba, who passed it off to Tevez to finally put it away and make it four-0 in the 56th minute.
Unfortunately Lazio fans determined to direct their anger at Juve’s black gamers, prompting a late warning from the stadium announcer. From Reuters:
Juventus players Paul Pogba, Angelo Ogbonna and Kwadwo Asamoah have been booed by Lazio fans each time they touched the ball late within the second half at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico.
A warning was read over the stadium loudspeakers simply earlier than the top of the game, although play was not halted.
After the match, Lazio manager Vladimir Petkovic apologized “to the followers and the town” for the heavy defeat whereas Juve celebrated in their opponents’ dwelling.
