Chiefs operating back Jamaal Charles exited the sport after he landed on his head following a success from the Jaguars’ Paul Posluszny on Sunday in the third quarter.
Charles was diving for a primary down on a 3rd and one working play when Pozluszny tackled him and their helmets made contact. The hit despatched Charles downwards, and the crown of his helmet landed first and he went head over heels.
After the play, Charles was attended to by trainers and walked off the field. He didn’t return for the Chiefs’ subsequent sequence and after a short stint on the exercise bike on the Chiefs’ sideline, he limped to the locker room with what the Chiefs stated was a quad injury. Not lengthy after he went there, the Chiefs stated Charles would miss the rest of the game. Nevertheless, it wasn’t particularly needed — the Chiefs held a 21-2 lead over the Jaguars at the time of Charles’ departure.
Knile Davis, a rookie from Arkansas, and Cyrus Grey replaced Charles. Before he left the game, Charles had 14 carries for 76 yards, including a two-yard touchdown run.
