The excellent news on Monday night time is that Robert Griffin III was back. It doesn"t matter what occurred for the Washington Redskins the rest of Monday night time, when you could have advised their fans back on that darkish January day when Griffin blew out his knee that he would begin the 2013 season opener, each one would have fortunately signed up for that.
But the problem for Griffin is he didn"t play within the preseason, did not practice a lot in the offseason, and is still a very young quarterback. The rust showed on his second pass of the game.
Griffin"s second cross in his return towards the Eagles was an interception. It wasn"t a very good choice or good mechanics on the throw. Santana Moss was nicely lined in the midst of the sphere on a 3rd and long, however Griffin tried to squeeze it in anyway. As ESPN"s Jon Gruden identified on the sport broadcast, Griffin didn"t look like he finished the play by landing confidently his front (left) foot. It is laborious to say if that had something to do with any mental hurdles he has in his reconstructed knee on his proper plant leg. It"s also inconceivable to say if a safety later within the first quarter, on a fumbled pitch by Griffin to working back Alfred Morris, had something to do with a scarcity of timing from not practicing together much this offseason.
Griffin faces a big challenge this season, attempting to take a step forward from an unimaginable rookie season, even though he didn"t have a typical offseason to work on his craft like most different young quarterbacks. Griffin did not have an ideal start towards the Eagles, but the biggest news is that one of the NFL"s superstars was starting in any respect, just eight months after that horrifying knee harm.
Robert Griffin III makes a triumphant return, then throws an interception on his second pass
