The NFL has levied its first tremendous of the season, and it is a beaut: $100,000 towards Detroit’s Ndamukong Suh for a low block on Minnesota heart John Sullivan on Sunday.
The hit occurred simply after Detroit’s DeAndre Levy intercepted a Christian Ponder cross. Suh came in low on Sullivan, taking him out at the knees and sending him to the turf. The speedy consensus was that Suh’s move was a unclean play and one probably worthy of disciplinary motion.
Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer indicated on Tuesday that the league was considering a minimum of a $one hundred,000 effective on Suh, and certainly that was the case.
Suh has a protracted and less-than-distinguished history of cheap play. He’s been fined for Thanksgiving misconduct twice, once for stomping on Green Bay’s Evan Dietrich-Smith, and one other time for crotch-kicking Houston’s Matt Schaub. No less than he used his physique this time around.
