Texas’ 66-31 win at Ole Miss last season was one of the Longhorns most lopsided, and memorable, victories of the 2012 season.
It was memorable for Ole Miss, too.
The defense was shredded, overwhelmed and embarrassed on its home turf. The 66 factors had been the most the Rebels had allowed since 1917. The Longhorns gained 676 whole yards. Quarterback David Ash threw for a profession-excessive 326 yards and four touchdowns.
It was as dangerous of a defensive performance as there was in college soccer that season.
So, as the 2 teams put together to meet once more in Austin this weekend, Ole Miss safety Cody Prewitt used his Facebook web page to provide a little inspiration and a warning to the Longhorns.
Ole Miss, which is 2-zero, is meeting Texas at an fascinating time. The Longhorns are coming off an embarrassing loss to BYU and simply fired its defensive coordinator. Texas might easily continue its downward spiral or discover some form of motivation from final week’s debacle.
If it’s the latter, it’s a protected wager Ole Miss won’t be the Longhorns punching bag prefer it was a 12 months in the past.
