It wasn’t much of a secret that the UFC was trying into pairing Chael Sonnen and Rashad Evans because the co-foremost event of UFC 167 after their amusing exchange on Twitter last week.
Sonnen asked Evans on Twitter what he was doing on Nov. sixteen. Evans stated nothing and requested, ‘What’s up?” Sonnen replied by Tweeting the poster above.
Though the combat will not be the principle event — That will be the welterweight title bout between Georges St-Pierre and Johny Hendricks — it was a superb match that followers appeared concerned about.
And on Wednesday, the UFC made it official, asserting the bout on the pre-combat present on Fox Sports 1 for UFC Combat Evening 28. It will be a 3-spherical light heavyweight match on Nov. sixteen at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Sonnen and Evans are frequent broadcast companions on Fox Sports 1 and have a good relationship.
Sonnen is 29-13-1 and is coming off a shocking first-round submission of Mauricio “Shogun” Rua final month in Boston. Evans is eighteen-three-1 and is coming off a break up-resolution win over Dan Henderson at UFC 161 in June.
